Ranger ChallengeRanger Challenge is an extracurricular club where cadets compete at the annual Ranger Challenge competition at East Miramar, San Diego, CA. During the train up cadets undergo brutal physical training and learn technical tasks that push them physically and mentally. Those cadets who make the team compete in the November competition against six other ROTC programs in hopes of being crowned champions of Task Force Aztec.
During the Ranger Challenge event cadets from the Aztec Battalion competed in various events that tested their endurance and mental focus. Among the events were a modified Army Physical Fitness test, navigation and movement, rope bridge, grenade assault course, map reading, FLRC, first aid, situation report, 10km road march, and a commander's challenge event. The Aztec Battalion sent 1 team of 9 to compete in the competition with 1 alternate. Ranger Challenge takes place during Fall Semesters but training is mandatory throughout the school year.
